'Just Because'

Our fund-raising hafla was held on 28th November 2009.

 “Just Because” - our nominated charity for 2009 - is a registered charity supported by belly dancers worldwide, which is fundraising to purchase a mobile mammography unit. This charity work is in collaboration with the Breast Cancer Foundation of Egypt. So far £25k out of the £80k target has been raised.

In Egypt women are scared to pronounce the word cancer, instead it is called the ‘bad disease’. This unnecessary fear makes awareness and early detection more difficult leading to advance stage disease and poor survival.
