A talented teacher and performer, Farrah has built up a following from sharing her knowledge of Turkish, Egyptian and Berber style dance. She also performs Roma and Tribal Fusion styles as Tanzika
Fun, feisty, feminine and vibrant, Farrah is known for her varied dance performances, charismatic interaction with the audience, and generous attitude towards her students.
Farrah brings an authentic North African flavour to Shameena along with a love of traditional styles, particularly stick dance (raqs assaya).
Farrah says: “After a really bad motorbike accident, which left me with permanent leg damage, I never thought I would ever be able to walk properly, let alone dance again! I took up Arabic Dance in 1998 when my confidence and self-esteem were at an all-time low and discovered how amazing it is - not just for the body but for the soul!
I am so grateful for all the support I have had from the many wonderful women I have met through dance!
Since I started, I have gone on to performing on stage (QEH Theatre & Brewery Theatre in Bristol, as well as at Community Festivals and Glastonbury Festival - something I never dreamed I would do! ). I also run classes and exercise/dance sessions for senior citizens in South Bristol.I am passionate about Arabic dance and look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for this beautiful dance form with you!”
